Yupo paper 74lb 9x12 or 11x14 sheets Available for purchase by the sheet from instructor
Piece of plexiglass a bit larger than the size paper you will use If you have an older piece with no major scratches that will be fine Fresh watercolor paint in stronger colors, suggestions: french ultra, phthalo blue, Payne’s gray, phthalo and sap greens, new gamboge, orange, burnt sienna, raw sienna Or any similar choices We will be using strong juicy paint A variety of brushes you like. Bring what you have but a flat 3/4 or 1” brush is suggested for applying the paint to the plexiglass Paper towels Spray bottle Reference photos A good imagination! |
My class starts with putting w/c paint on plexiglass (specific colors & placement for example flowers) and then laying the yupo paper on top & pulling a print. You can redo the printing til you get something you like. Then you enhance it by adding paint or wiping out color you don’t want. You create very interesting textures with this method.
